A Practical Introduction to Virtual Reality: From Concepts to Executables

As suggested in the title, this book aims to provide a balanced approach to teaching virtual reality.

A lot of books in this field tend to either be soley focused on concepts without a line of code within the entire text, or so focused on tools that the materials become obsolete in a short period of time.

This book provides a balance of both and oriented towards undergraduate computer science students. The materials were even tested with undergraduated computer science students to verify it's effectiveness.

The book has two main parts: the text and the online materials. In order to keep the text portion current for longer, the text was kept to a more conceptual level, using pseudocode whenever needed. The online materials are predominately tutorials (all in Unity at this time) with full code solutions available to the instructor.

These materials are updated every time the book is tested on students. The next round of testing with students is this coming spring, so the online materials will get another update after.

Since this is an ongoing educational research project, feedback about the materials is welcomed.
